This magnificent brass column which stands about three feet high was originally conceived and made in Italy.
Annually, it is passed from the host country of the year to the next host country for safe keeping.
At present it is in the safe keeping of the U.S.A, who will pass it over to Israel in September 2009 at the 46th Submariners Convention being held in San Diego next year.
The column is covered in small brass plaques of each country that has had the honour of receiving it. In 2007 a four inch base was added to accommodate more plaques to be added in the future.
